LATEST STUFF

Megamind, 2010

I was thoroughly entertained by this fun take on superheroes and supervillains. David Cross was great as Megamind’s sidekick.

Enter the Void, 2009

The latest experiment in the cinema of endurance from controversial director Gaspar Noé will probably find cult status among the stoner crowd.

I Think We’re Alone Now, 2008

Documentary about two Tiffany super-fans, oh wait, I mean super-stalkers. It started off pretty funny but ended up incredibly depressing.

Troll Hunter, 2010

A really well made mockumentary from Norway. The whole mythology was well thought out and the special effects were flawlessly executed.

Megamind : Ultimate Showdown

Sometimes you’ll play a game just for the easy 1000 points it will add to your Gamerscore. This was one of those games.

Handling The Undead

Latest from Let The Right One In author John Ajvide Lindqvist. Pretty good story but way too much like the French film They Came Back.

Freakonomics, 2010

Documentary based on the wildly popular economics book. I was a bit bored by the sumo wrestling segment, but the rest of segments were good.

The Keep, 1983

Movies don’t get much cultier than Michael Mann‘s WWII horror film. Mostly remembered for the Tangerine Dream soundtrack. I liked it a lot.

Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage, 2010

One of rock’s most over-looked bands gets the behind the music treatment in this documentary. I still say Neil Peart is the best drummer around.

127 Hours, 2010

Good movie. Aron Ralston‘s sheer determination to survive at any cost is a very inspiring story because I know I never could do what he did.

Winter's Bone, 2010

A young girl (newcomer Jennifer Lawrence was pitch perfect) desperately searches for her meth-cooking father in order to save her family.

Top 6 Movies Of 2010

Black Swan – I couldn’t care less about ballet, but what a great movie. Natalie Portman’s descent into madness blew me away. Give her the Oscar now. Let Me In – Matt Reeves pulled it off – the remake that holds its own against the original. Every change made sense....

True Grit, 2010

Another homerun from the Coen Brothers. Young Hailee Steinfeld more than held her own against one of the best casts of the year. A must see.
