The Peanut Butter Solution, 1985

I can see why young kids were traumatized by this when they were young. It is one of the weirdest movies I’ve ever watched.

Greyhound, 2020

A lean and straight ahead war movie that I enjoyed quite a bit. I liked the emphasis on tactics and how everyone knew their job and did it exceptionally well.

Ready or Not, 2019

Samara Weaving is going to be a huge star. I really dig high-concept, well executed movies. I was never a big fan of the Scream movies but I am very interested to see what these filmmakers can do with it next.

Scare Package, 2019

More hits than misses. You can really tell these filmmakers love old school horror movies.

Bad Education, 2019

It was fun watching Hugh Jackman try to keep it together while everything was spiraling out of control.

Tetsuo: The Iron Man, 1989

I felt like Homer Simpson watching Twin Peaks – “Brilliant. I have absolutely no idea what’s going on.”

Cannibal Holocaust, 1980

An interesting and challenging piece of movie history that’s not for everyone. I’m happy that Joe Bob Briggs picked it for The Last Drive-In.

Dead Heat, 1988

One of the best 80s buddy cop movies. I’ll never understand why Treat Williams wasn’t a bigger star than he was. That guy is great.

The Exorcist III, 1990

I admired the heck out of the acting but there is way too much telling and not enough showing for me personally.

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, 2011

I wish DC would do a couple more animated anthology films like this one. I really enjoy the format and there are so many fringe characters you could introduce to new fans.

Troma’s War, 1988

This movie is amazing. Tons of fun action and terribly tasteless jokes. God bless Troma and God bless Lloyd Kaufman!

Netflix vs. the World, 2019

I found this documentary endlessly fascinating because I was working for Blockbuster Video at the time this was all happening. Lots of weird things we went through now make sense with some context. I was surprised how close Blockbuster came to overtaking Netflix’s disc rental service.

Maniac, 1980

You can’t argue this movie’s place in slasher history. Some of Tom Savini’s finest work. It’s a movie that makes you want to take a shower after watching. Everything is so disgusting.
