LATEST STUFF

Lights Out, 2016

A fun and straight forward horror movie. The light/dark gimmick was cool and the filmmakers figured out how to use it in lots of clever ways.

Ghostwatch, 1992

The best faux tv documentary I’ve seen. Well made with some creepy scenes. I wish I could have seen it live when it originally aired in 1992. It must have freaked everyone out.

Get Out, 2017

Totally lived up to all the well deserved hype. There was a real feeling of dread throughout the entire movie. Highly recommended.

Klown Forever, 2015

Not as funny overall as the first movie, but there were still some great awkward scenes.

XX, 2017

A disappointing misfire. I didn’t like any of the four stories.

Headshot, 2016

Awesome fight choreography. Someone needs to hire these guys to make a big budget movie right away.

The Love Witch, 2016

A fine example of style over substance. The look of the movie was a great riff on classic Hammer Films and the sex comedies of the 1960s, but the meandering plot could have been easily trimmed by 30-40 minutes.

Evolution, 2015

Way too long and it’s only 80 minutes. Most of the movie is spent with the characters just sitting around saying nothing. So boring and I have no idea what was going on.

The Devil’s Candy, 2015

Great music. I was expecting the typical “dad goes insane” plot and thankfully I was wrong. It was a really good movie.

Antibirth, 2016

This movie has one of the most misleading trailers I’ve ever scene. This was supposed to be some sort of crazy splatter flick but it was actually a boring mess.

Beyond the Gates, 2016

I’m down for any movie with Barbara Crampton in it but I think my expectations for this movie were too high. There were some good parts but too many slow parts holding it back.
