I’m happy to report that The Greasy Strangler was no one off fluke. Jim Hoskins has made another hilarious and rather charming tale of misfits finding each other in a bizarre world.

I’m kind of embarrassed it took me this long to finally watch this movie. Jack Black turned in one his finest and subdued performances ever. I can just tell this will end up being a movie that I’ll break out every year or so to re-watch.

A good cast and a plot with some interesting things to say. Peter Berg sure does know how to shoot an entertaining movie.

I can’t really put my finger on the reasons, but this movie never really clicked for me. It had all the right ingredients for something special, just not creepy enough I suppose. I still would check it out if you are a fan of Evans’ other work,

I’ve grown to love this series but even I have to say there just isn’t any more story to tell here after this prequel. Even after saying that I will still check out the tv series.

It’s strange that DC is already remaking their own animated movies. I did like this quite a bit. The animation was better than the original but I still do not like Superman’s character design. Splitting the story in 2 parts gives this first part more time with the characters before...

A very good slow burn. I liked how they treated the rituals in a very procedural type of way. I really seem to enjoy movies that leave you guessing the entire time if what you are seeing is going to actually lead to something major happening or not.

I’m a huge Saulnier fan and you can’t beat his visual style. I found bits of the plot confusing and it made more sense once I searched out the original book’s ending.

One of the great micro-budget horror movies of the 1980s. Belial is an all-time great horror movie antagonist even though he was made so cheaply he can’t do much of anything.

Wow, what a movie. It had me smiling and cringing the entire time. I’m glad those years are far, far behind me. One of the best films of 2018 for sure.

A rambling and sometimes boring history of the Garbage Pail Kids cards and movie. You could have easily taken out 30 minutes of repetitious information and still got the point across.

It was just kind of fine overall. I dislike movies when the characters make wild leaps of logic and know exactly what is going on out of the total blue. I like my plot points earned.
