Train to Busan, 2016

Started off strong, dragged in the middle, and finished pretty strong.

Holidays, 2016

I liked this one quite a bit. All of the stories were solid.

All Hallows’ Eve 2, 2015

Slightly better stories than were in the first one. The wraparound story was lazy and added nothing.

All Hallows’ Eve, 2013

Not a great anthology. The wraparound was lame. The only thing I liked was the quiet clown.

The Greasy Strangler, 2016

I can’t even begin to explain how bizarre and amazing this movie was. It must be seen to be believed.

31, 2016

Rob Zomibe’s take on The Running Man. Lots of great ideas but way too much camera shake. You could barely see what was going on. Doom Head is a great new horror icon. He was great.

Scare Campaign, 2016

Started off pretty slow but a few clever twists redeemed it by the end.

Dreamcatcher, 2003

An incredible waste of talent in front of and behind the camera. I miss this era of big budget bad movies. It’s funny and terrible at the same time.

Tickled, 2016

Starts off incredibly strong and never lets up. So funny and disturbing at the same time. I would advise skipping trailers on this one and just watch it cold.

Amanda Knox, 2016

Another sobering look at how you can be railroaded by authorities who are sloppy and in a rush to close the case. The most disgusting thing to me was the media’s lack of due diligence. A real must watch.

Star Trek Beyond, 2016

A return to form after the let down that was Into Darkness. Everyone got their time to shine. The action set pieces were a lot of fun to watch.

Independence Day: Resurgence, 2016

Fox should have paid Will Smith whatever he wanted to star in this movie because nobody from the “new cast” had an charisma whatsoever. Luckily Jeff Goldblum and Brent Spiner were there to inject some sort of life into a movie that had some pretty interesting ideas in it.

Mission to Mars, 2000

I liked it more now than I originally did back in 2000. There’s a lot of classic De Palma camera work going on but I just can’t get past that crying Martian.

Sing Street, 2016

Such a great and uplifting movie. I couldn’t stop smiling the entire time. The original songs were all top notch. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
