Guyver: Dark Hero, 1994 – ★★★

This sequel offers a stronger story than the first, but the two-hour runtime tests your patience. Despite its improvements, the pacing makes it a bit of a slog to get through.

ZEF – The Story of Die Antwoord, 2024 – ★★

This film feels more like a propaganda piece aimed at rehabilitating the band’s tarnished image rather than an honest documentary. The lack of critical outsude perspective makes it hard to take seriously.

The Gingerdead Man, 2005 – ★

This film marks a real low point for Full Moon Pictures, offering little in the way of entertainment. The lack of fun makes it a disappointing experience overall.

The Guyver, 1991 – ★★

The film is much sillier than I remembered, but it still has a certain charm. The monster suits remain incredible, showcasing some impressive practical effects.

Pandemonium, 2023 – ★★

The film starts with a fantastic concept, but the short stories drag on far too long, losing their impact. It would have been much more effective with tighter pacing and shorter segments.

The Aftermath, 1982 – ★★★

This film is an enjoyable watch, though it doesn’t quite capture the same level of excitement as Barkett’s Empire of the Dark. While entertaining, it lacks the interesting story that made his other work more engaging.

MaXXXine, 2024 – ★★★★

The trilogy concludes perfectly, and Mia Goth’s performance has made me a huge fan. I’m eager to see what Ti West has in store next.

#ChadGetsTheAxe, 2022 – ★★★

This film is one of the rare screen life movies that truly gets it right, effectively using the format to enhance the story. The lively chat scroll adds an extra layer of enjoyment, making it a fun watch.

Deadpool & Wolverine, 2024 – ★★★★

This movie is a delightful send-off for the old FOX Marvel universe, with plenty of surprises that are best experienced firsthand. Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine is a highlight, adding to the film’s charm and excitement.

The Advent Calendar, 2021 – ★★

The intriguing concept feels overextended and loses impact over its runtime. This story would have been far more effective as a concise 30-minute segment in an anthology.

Silent Night, Zombie Night, 2009 – ★

This film failed to provide any enjoyable moments, leaving me completely dissatisfied. It lacks any redeeming qualities and was a disappointment from start to finish.

Toxic Obsession, 2019 – ★★★

This film perfectly blends the charm of a vanity project with a complete misunderstanding of basic human behavior. Its bizarre character interactions add an unintended layer of entertainment.

A Quiet Place: Day One, 2024 – ★★

After three films in the franchise, it’s frustrating that we still don’t have any real answers about the creatures. Instead of advancing the story, it feels like we’re just seeing a repetition of the same scenario.

Children of the Corn: Runaway, 2018 – ★

This film is a major letdown from the typically dependable John Gulager, lacking his usual touch. It feels like a rushed production made solely to maintain the license, rather than a genuine effort.

Hell Girl, 2019 – ★

The film is so disjointed that I gave up trying to make sense of the plot. Its chaotic narrative left me more confused than entertained.
