Manglehorn, 2014
Another solid movie from David Gordon Green. He just keeps cranking them out. Al Pacino finally toned it down enough to give a pretty good performance, but I thought Holly Hunter was much better overall.

Running only about 90 minutes, it felt like 3 hours. It took so long to get to any type of point that by then I just didn’t care anymore. It also seemed to be poorly dubbed at points.
A trio of good performances really elevated this smartly written movie to the next level. I have a lot of questions after watching it, like who is really the main protagonist? I think you could argue any of the three main leads, and that’s what makes this movie great. This will be a fun one to re-watch multiple times.
One of the few movies that actually lived up to all the hype I’ve been reading for the last few months. Pretty creepy but what stood out most to me was how authentic all of the characters felt, right down to their kid-logic inspired monster trap.
It started off as the movie-within-the-movie from FOUND, but ended being better in my opinion. The effects were pretty great, and Skull Boy was awesome.
Nicolas Cage really brought his A-game to this one. And nobody can get better performances out of first time actors than David Gordon Green.
A terrific documentary about the larger than life filmmaker John Milius. He worked on so many great movies its really kind of amazing.
I liked it but it really should have been called Avengers 1.5 because the Winter Soldier had very little to do with anything in this movie.
A harrowing movie experience. Even though I knew how it ended I was still on the edge of my seat the entire time.
A complete waste of time. What was up with Ashton Kutcher’s stupid walk? Go watch Pirates of Silicon Valley instead.
A terrible waste of really talented cast. Pretty much all build up to a very disappointing ending that’s too clever for its own good.
Sequel picks up exactly from the last frame of the first movie. I was pretty disappointed overall. Way too long and not enough happening.
What a complete surprise. This movie was hilarious. Tons of great gore and stupid jokes. I hope they make a sequel.
[youtube https://youtu.be/wLettc3rUUk&w=640&h=360&align=left ] I was skeptical that this would just be another lame cash-grab remake unitl I saw this crazy trailer. I’ll be first in line April 12. Groovy.
What a fantastic movie! I was totally blown away by the amazing camera work. Each 10+ minute take ratcheted up the tension to an unbearable level.
