I was totally into this one until the protagonist left his apartment. I kind of lost the thread of what was happening and didn’t really care to fix that.
Megan Is Missing, 2011 – ★★★
Kind of run of the mill screen life movie until you hit the very effective and unsettling last 20 minutes.
Animal, 2014 – ★★
Pretty standard monster attacking people in a cabin movie. I did appreciate the monster design and the fact that the end took place outside in daylight.
Black Roses, 1988 – ★★★
Killer 80s metal soundtrack, creative effects, and 30 year olds playing high school students. A perfect movie for The Last Drive-In.
The Marine 2, 2009 – ★★
Not nearly enough action. Made me miss the good old days of 80s and 90s action movies.
30 Days of Night: Dark Days, 2010 – ★★
Solid idea for a sequel. I just don’t think they pulled it off.
