Francesca, 2015

If nobody told you otherwise you would think this giallo inspired thriller was from the 1970s. They had every little nuance down pat. I was kind of distracted by the look of the film. It kind of looked like some grain filters added to something shot on video tape instead...

I Trapped the Devil, 2019

Tons of great buildup with kind of a dud ending. Maybe it would play better on a second viewing knowing what to expect this time.

The Night Comes for Us, 2018

Another fantastic all-out insane action movie. The stunts and fight choreography are simple amazing. Hard to believe nobody got seriously injured.

Would You Rather, 2012

Not bad. Jeffrey Combs was hamming it up as usual. The end was just kind of a let down.

Killer Kate!, 2018

There’s a germ of a good movie idea in here. First take some more time developing the anti Airbnb family from the hotel. Then double or triple the amount of friends at the bachelorette party so there’s more people to kill.

Boar, 2017

Goofy monster movie fun. The practical boar was pretty cool but the cgi was pretty hilarious.

The Perfection, 2018

I had no idea what to expect and I was pretty blown away by all the weird twists and turns. Allison Williams is quickly becoming one of my favorite actresses.

The Ranger, 2018

A great setup and menacing performance by Jeremy Holm. I just didn’t feel the overall story was on the same level.

You Might Be the Killer, 2018

I love when a movie twists all the typical horror movie tropes and creates something new. Yet another great reason to subscribe to Shudder.

Hell Fest, 2018

It never really clicked for me and I was pretty bored the entire time.

One Cut of the Dead, 2017

One the the most creative and joyous movie experiences in a long time. It was so much fun watching it for the first time knowing nothing about it.

Trauma, 2017

Not the most disturbing movie I’ve ever seen but it sure is near the top of the list. I’ll be searching out this director’s other movies immediately.

Fun Size Horror: Volume One, 2015

I like the 5-10 minute anthology format. I don’t remember seeing one like that before. The killer birthday dog was my favorite.

Death House, 2017

Major disappointment and a waste of the one chance you probably have gathering together pretty much every iconic horror actor and actress from the last 40 years.

Piercing, 2018

Weird and disturbing. I really liked it and I learned to never, ever take halcyon.
