Safer at Home, 2021 – ★
One of the lazier pandemic movies I’ve seen so far. Most of the cast were pointless and did nothing the entire movie.
Candyman, 2021 – ★★★ (contains spoilers)
This review may contain spoilers. I wasn’t expecting to but I really enjoyed this direct sequel. I would highly recommend re-watching the 1992 original before this one since it does tie in deeply to that one.
Candyman, 1992 – ★★★
I was delightfully surprised by how well this movie holds up. Well shot, loved the score, great performances.
Escape Room, 2017 – ★
I don’t know what I just watched. What was the point? Who was doing this? It took and hour to get to the actual escape room for crying out loud. A complete mess.
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions, 2021 – ★★
All these elaborate traps must seem like a good idea on paper to the filmmakers but they are so convoluted and dull I was bored out of my mind.
Honeydew, 2020 – ★★
Ari Aster’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Sounds like a great idea on paper just not in execution.
Dementer, 2019 – ★★★
I liked the performances but there’s not enough there to be support a full length movie.
Malignant, 2021 – ★★★★
You can tell James Wan is having a lot of fun here. The last 20 minutes are great but it just takes so long to get there.
In the Earth, 2021 – ★★★★
Wheatley mixes science and folk tales in a very weird and trippy tale. I’ll have to watch this one again to take it all in.
Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight, 2020 – ★★★
Every cliché and the kitchen sink was thrown into this pretty entertaining slasher from Poland.
Don't Breathe 2, 2021 – ★★★ (contains spoilers)
This review may contain spoilers. A pretty big mess of a sequel. Worst of all they tried to T2 the villain from the first movie and I wasn’t buying it at all.
