Clara's Ghost, 2018 – ★
There’s no fun here watching the Elliott family work out all their problems.
Kandisha, 2020 – ★★★
Basically a French take on Candyman with a couple of really grusome effect sequences.
Demonic, 2021 – ★★★★
I really enjoyed this one. I love when science and religion mix it up. The simulation was interesting and different. And I always appreciate a movie that gets right to the point.
Surrogates, 2009 – ★★★
Just wanted to re-watch this before the How Did This Get Made episode came out. I stand by my original review – good ideas, lackluster execution.
Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins, 2021 – ★★★
Maybe one of these days they will finally make a proper G.I. Joe movie.
Brahms: The Boy II, 2020 – ★
Even more boring than the first one. And now he’s supernatural? No more Brahms please.
The Boy, 2016 – ★ (contains spoilers)
This review may contain spoilers. Another boring movie with a guy living in the walls.
The World of Kanako, 2014 – ★
It took me 2 days to finally get through this one. I wasn’t into it at all.
Mon Ami, 2012 – ★★★
Started off a little rough but I was totally won over by the time they whispered their orders at a drive through. Funny and quite gruesome.
Next of Kin, 1982 – ★★★★
There are slow burn movies, then there’s NEXT OF KIN. I really enjoyed this one but I admit I had to go lookup exactly what happened.
Never Hike in the Snow – ★★★
Excellently made fan film. Whoever owns the right to Friday the 13th needs to get their act together and start making some more movies already.
Violet & Daisy, 2011 – ★★
I wasn’t too thrilled with this Tarantino wannabe. Gandolfini was acting circles around everyone else in this movie. He is sorely missed.
Cosmic Sin, 2021 – ★
I laughed anytime Bruce Willis got out of his chair. There wasn’t a lot of laughing.
The Domestics, 2018 – ★★
A terribly boring mashup of THE PURGE and THE WARRIORS. On a positive note, there were tons of great practical effects.
