F9, 2021 – ★★★★
After 8 movies Dom finally realizes he isn’t always right and grows about 4 inches taller to reconcile with his little brother John Cena. Han finally gets justice and the crew are basically immortal superheroes now driving through satellites in outer space now.
The Day of the Beast, 1995 – ★★★
A hilarious mix of Terry Gilliam, THE OMEN, and SWIMMING WITH SHARKS. I’m glad I finally got to see this. Thanks @therealjoebob!
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, 2019 – ★★★★
All the fun without all the baggage of “family”. Brixton Lore (seriously, who makes up these bad-ass names?) is a terrific foil for Hobbs & Shaw to literally tackle and punch in the face repeatedly. You know Lore is going to return as a good guy any movie now. This...
John Wayne Gacy: Devil in Disguise, 2021 – ★★★
I never knew the exact details about the Gacy murders beyond Pogo the Clown and his creepy paintings from prison. He really was evil incarnate. The delusional interview clips were especially chilling. Good riddance.
The Fate of the Furious, 2017 – ★★★★
Dom goes bad! Shaw is good now? Cipher is a cool villain. How can you not love Hobbs throwing a torpedo at a submarine?
Furious 7, 2015 – ★★★★
James Wan takes a crack at the franchise with good results. Shaw is a great bad guy, Mr. Nobody is a great way to explain away the increasing number of plot issues. Finally we bid farewell to Paul Walker, but Brian will live on in retirement.
Fear Street: 1666, 2021 – ★★
The 1666 part of this chapter was the weakest of the entire series. If you are doing an old-timey film you can’t just rent your costumes from wardrobe and call it a day. You have to weather them to make them look used and more worn in. Overall all 3...
Fear Street: 1978, 2021 – ★★★
My hopes for a cool 70s summer camp slasher were quickly dashed when I realized nothing in this chapter of the story really mattered. It could have been summed up in about 10 minutes.
Fear Street: 1994, 2021 – ★★★
Decent first chapter with some really gruesome kills. I wonder how much they spent on music because in the beginning every 30 seconds or so they were playing another pop song from the era.
Fast & Furious 6, 2013 – ★★★
Letty returns, Giselle sacrifices herself to save Han, Shaw kills Han mid credits. Fun car stunts, too much CGI, not one of my favorite installments.
Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage, 2021 – ★★★★
Terrific documentary about the utterly frightening festival. There was a lot of finger pointing but it really seems like everyone there had a hand in what happened there.
Fast Five, 2011 – ★★★★
The high water mark for the entire series. Justin Lin smartly brings every main character back, brings in Hobbs, and stages the most thrilling back heist through the streets of Brazil.
Fast & Furious, 2009 – ★★
Dom is back, Letty “dies”, and Giselle enters our hearts. By far my least favorite of the entire series. Kind of fells like nobody knew what to do with these characters anymore.
The Doorman, 2020 – ★★
Exactly want you’d think a 10th generation copy of DIE HARD would look like. But I guess if you are going to copy another movie might as well steal from the best.
