Smoke and Mirrors: The Story of Tom Savini, 2015
A decent primer on the legendary effects wizard. I’ve heard almost all of these stories before and there were still a few things I didn’t already know.
Rambo: Last Blood, 2019
I would barely call this a movie. It’s just a sad ending to one of my favorite franchises. The saddest part was seeing all the clips from the other much better movies during the credits.
Zombieland: Double Tap, 2019
Woody seemed like the only original cast member trying at all in this very cheap looking and very late sequel.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, 2019
It was fine. It moved at such a breakneck speed I wasn’t really sure what the point of anything was besides just looking cool. Maybe I’ll enjoy it more on future viewings.
Uncut Gems, 2019
Completely riveting from start to end. I spent the entire time feeling stressed out watching this guy continue to dig himself deeper and deeper into trouble.
6 Underground, 2019
Michael Bay unhinged and operating at 110% Bayness. There isn’t much of a story but the action was pretty amazing.
Parasite, 2019
Lives up to the hype and then some. It would be best to go into this movie with as little knowledge as possible. One of the best films I’ve watched this year.
Little Joe, 2019
I’d imagine if Yorgos Lanthimos made INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS it would turn out a lot like this. I really dug the atmosphere and production design but I was not a fan of the score at all. I found it too distracting.
The Baby, 1973
Without a doubt one of the weirdest movies I’ve ever seen. The entire cast really commits to this insane concept. The end was so silly I couldn’t help laughing.
