300: Rise of an Empire, 2014

Still tons of fun and a ridiculous amount of mostly cgi blood. I wish someone would edit both movies together into one glorious orgy of violence.

Alita: Battle Angel, 2019

After 20 years of waiting it’s still hard to believe this movie finally came out and I actually liked it. They sure crammed in a ton of story from the long running comic series into this movie. This movie also had the most seamless integration of live actors and cgi...

Free Solo, 2018

Thrilling and nerve racking at the same time. I wish I could have watched this in the theater on a giant screen.

The Front Runner, 2018

A fairly bland retelling of a fairly important chapter in the history of American politics and media.

The Standoff at Sparrow Creek, 2018

A tight and well acted thriller. I didn’t really like the ending at first but the more I thought about it the better I liked it.

Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror, 2019

Like all good documentaries I came away from this one with a list of interesting movies I need to watch. And you really should support what Shudder is doing for genre films in general. Its the best $50 a year you can spend.

Reign of the Supermen, 2019

It felt a little too light on story and rushed compared the first part released a few months ago.

Overlord, 2018

If you took out all the horror elements I think this would still be a really good WWII movie. You can see how this was supposed to connect to the Cloverfield Universe, I just wish they stuck to their guns and did it.

The Nun, 2018

In my option this added absolutely nothing to the Conjuring Universe. I didn’t see any point whatsoever.
