1. X / PEARL
Ti West makes his triumphant return to feature films. There’s something wrong if Mia Goth doesn’t get nominated for an Oscar next spring. Loved every second of this double feature.
2. THE BLACK PHONE
An amazingly creepy and well made film. Everything seemed so authentic.
3. NOPE
Another movie I’m glad I avoided all spoilers for. I really loved it.
4. SPEAK NO EVIL
What a nasty little movie. I appreciate the filmmakers didn’t pull back at all.
5. SOMETHING IN THE DIRT
Another excellent mind-bender from Benson & Moorehead. One of the best pandemic made movies so far.
6. MEN
Another gem from Garland. His stuff always takes multiple viewings to fully digest.
7. THE SADNESS
It takes a lot for a zombie movie to break through and impress me like this one did. A must see for genre fans.
8. THE NORTHMAN
Fantastic film overall. I was completely enthralled until the very end.
9. TERRIFIER 2
Utterly disgusting and fun. I’m so happy it has done so well in theaters.
